Garage door glass is flat, completely different than automotive. You won't learn much other than waste film.

I don't go through vehicles alot so i'd rather spend the money for a professional like TH to do the work.

There is some good information is this thread. Baby shampoo is the way to go. I would recommend shrinking ALL the windows, not just the rear. I would also recommend a dry shrink in the back and wet shrink on the sides, otherwise you will get fingers when applying it. I don't use the precut stuff. All the windows that I do are custom cut to "your" windows. The precut don't always fit perfect and you get light gaps.

$13 for film, I wouldn't trust that it won't turn purple, peel, fade, and bubble. I use only high end films, Suntek, 3M, Madico, and Solargard. You get what pay for. If you decide to go the professional route, I charge $220 for wagons, shoot me a PM and we can set up an appointment.

Yes, I am installing the tint on my Impreza Outback Sport wagon. I guess the rear glass will need to be shrunk afterward, but the rest should be g2g.
Shrink everything before you apply it.

got my hoe done today and 4 windows on LL's wagon. Turned out pretty good. time will tell I guess. the pre-cut stuff was pretty good for fit. didn't really have to do much trimming except one spot on the tahoe where it seemed to overlap a section of black material on the windows. We'll see what happens to it if it peels or turns purple. I'll probably avoid ammonia based glass cleaner just to avoid the purple.

Trigger, can you recommend a good vendor in C/S?

It was great to meet Sniper7 and learn something new! We definitely improved as we did more windows. My passenger side is better than my driver's side. I'm going to try to finish my last 3 windows tonight. But i am borrowing a heat gun now, so i might be able to fix some of the blemishes
