    Default .223 Ammo Prices

I was up at Dicks sporting goods at hwy 7 and I-25.

They had a special on .223 remington ammo. $99.00 for a case of 200. At .50 a round does this seem like a deal? At first I didn't think so until I went to Gander mountain at Grant and 104th area and they were selling .223 (had a lot) for 14.95 for 20 (.75 per round) and 5.56 for 11.95/20 rounds (I thought .223 was supposed to be cheaper).

What is a good price? I am certain Gander Mountain's prices were NOT a good deal but is .50 a round the best you can hope for for .223 or 5.56 these days?

Wolf and other commie steel cased you might get under $.30 a round in case quantities, if you look hard. Brass cased, the prvi partizan was about $.35 a round in case quantities. Shipping may vary.

US-made brass cased will probably bottom out at $.45 a round, in case quantities if you look hard and get lucky, $.50 or more would be more common.

SW in Colo Spr has .223 in 20 rnd boxes for $9.95. It's boxed in what appears to be mil packaging. It's sad to say that I thought this looked like a good price. That would not have been the case a year ago.

I have found Federal 100 round boxes at Wally World on a hit and miss basis. It's $40.00 a box but it is 100 rounds. The brass is reloadable. That works out to $400 a thousand which is not great but is works for those with lessser needs.
