    Default Evie Hudak recall

Where are we on the recall for this spode?

I volunteered (walking and door knocking) last Friday, but only managed to collect 7 signatures. I think several people where out of town. Most people did not answer the door. I got a few "not interested" and 3 people that said they already signed the petition somewhere else. I would recommend volunteering to anyone who has a few hours to spend. They meet everyday at the Starbucks on 64th and Ward. I think there are other meeting locations as well. I walked from about 6 to 8 pm and was given a list of registered republican/libertarian voters. They weren't able to tell me how many signatures were collected, but they total the numbers on Sunday usually.

If you have some time it is actually pretty rewarding. Most people answer the door with a "what the F, do you want?" look on their faces and it is a little awkward at times, but when you run across the like minded people it is great to have a little chat and collect their signature. They are generally grateful and really cool people.

We need a lot of signatures for this effort, so it would be great to get some more people on the ground. No need to live in the district to collect signatures! I also have a petition ready for anyone in the district who needs to sign one, PM me!

This is where I volunteered: http://www.recallhudak.org/

They have several options for volunteering, this from the email they sent me when I signed up:

Door Knocking… This is where we need the most help
We'll give you a map and a publicly-available list of registered Republicans in a particular precinct. You'll go door to door asking for signatures, leaving calling cards in doors where no one answers. While the voter registration records are occasionally outdated, you'll be knocking on very friendly doors. At your request, we can pair you with someone experienced for an hour or so to get you started - you'd walk to each door with them, hear their pitch, watch their interactions, etc. Ongoing, we'll be glad to pair you with another volunteer - you can each work a side of the street - in the event that helps you feel more comfortable in this assignment.

    Sign-and-Drives
A few people hold signs along a busy street encouraging drivers to turn into a parking lot or residential street where other volunteers are waiting to collect their signature. We have some signs already made, we welcome your creative input/additions. We suggest 3-4 people per sign-and-drive; we've found that more people yields a lower rate of signatures-per-person-per-hour.

    Retail Locations/Other Public Areas
Locations include grocery stores, gun shops and any other retail or commercial areas. Gun shops are of course friendly assignments. Working other commercial areas however is the toughest assignment we have. You'll approach people cold; some will sign, others will tell you they don't agree with you, some will even be rude. Store managers may ask you to leave in which case we recommend you move to a different location. I've done a lot of this the past two weeks. I've obtained a lot of signatures this way but it's a tough slog. If you're easily offended or don't like to hear that others don't like your view, these venues may not be for you.
Lastly, please tell your family and friends about this effort - we need as many circulators as possible!

I signed on the first day of collection, but I am not sure if I used the EXACT same name structure as my voter registration. Does it hurt if I sign again?

Just take a cable bill and sign again. That is all you need to have a voice.

NOPE. You only need cable bill to vote but a valid driver's license or ID card to sign the recall petition

Edit: After reading post #8 I wanted every reader to understand my post was meant to be sarcastic.

It doesn't really hurt but it would be best to line through the original signature on the petition you signed and then do one correctly. I believe discepancies like using middle initial instead of full middle name or vice-versa are okay. What hurts is when John Q. Public signs it "Jack Public" or Richard A. Hed signs it "Dick Hed" or when the guy signing it can't get the right street address (I've come across a few where hubby signed with a street address 2 doors down from his registered address and then wifey signed right below him with the correct address -- WTF!).

As a volunteer who actually issues petitions to other volunteers, I can tell you that this is not true.

People who sign the petition only need to represent themselves as a registered voter in Senate District 19. We will show them a district map and have them locate their residence on the map if there is any question at all. Unlike an election under the new same-day law, the signature and address of the elector will be validated against the voter rolls by an employee of the Secretary of State. If they are found to not be eligible to sign, the signature won't be counted. In a same day election of course, a same-day registrant elector's vote will be anonymized and counted regardless of their ultimate eligibility. In our case though, we try to screen signers as best we can. Disallowed signatures do no one any good.

We will only ask for your DL if you will be a petition circulator. We have to check before we issue petitions so we can ascertain that you're a state resident and so we can prove that we did so by recording your DL # and DoB on the issuance form. We also train circulators regarding the legalities they must follow when collecting signatures. For instance, they must witness each and every signature. They will sign an affidavit to this effect in front of a notary when the petition is returned.

Everybody, it starts again! Friday we filed and now have 60 days to get our signatures... We only paused our previous recall effort to go help the guys in the south. Once those recalls were in the bag, we brought it back up here with support of the two southern recall efforts.

please come out or go to the website .. www.recallhudaktoo.org or Facebook Recall Hudak Too and donate!

we are a force to be dealt with, WE ARE THE PEOPLE!

Wife, son and I signed the dotted line at 88th and Field St this afternoon.

The daily headquarters are at 64th and Simms near Dairy Queen.
