I posted this on my Facebook, as related to this video:I was in high school when I did my first studio recording with our band. We recorded an LP at a studio in Ohio. I'm not the best bass player in the world, but I know what it takes to be 'good', and it's most of what has been mentioned in this thread. I wish young people wouldn't sell themselves out so quickly and settle for the 'second-rate' status that is held up to them. Young folks can accomplish soooooooooooooooo much more...Some of you have seen this, for the rest, be prepared! When my younger bass students ask me how to become a 'great musician', there's always a common theme in my answers: lots of hard work (practice) and devotion! If you want to play like this, put down the smartphone and controller and go to the woodshed...
