Default Need some chemical stripping done, who knows who?

I got a set of wheels I need to stripped to bare metal, and I feel too lazy to spend 4+ hours with media blast. Would like to get it chem. stripped, so I can go on with refinishing them. They're alloy wheels so caustic soda is a negative. So does anyone know someone? Would be much appreciated.

Take 'em to Blast Tech in Englewood. They can blast them without damage, and for a helluva lot less that any stripping place.

I priced a stripping job on a tiny little 3-legged hall table once, and I nearly choked. Dip 'N Strip wanted $250 for it! Just to dip strip it, not restore/refinish! Pissed me right off, I used to work in one of those places and know exactly how quick and easy it is to do it.

    Second Blast Tech.
    Use them exclusively.

How are thinking about finishing them? Good blast job can easily go to powder coat.

They're getting powder coated. I have a blasting cabinet. Just can't seem to find a media that's aggressive enough on wheel finishes and powder coats.

Damn. I was coming here to post something along these lines. But I would think a lower class joint and a meth head would be more in line...

You don't want to try blasting them yourself in a blast cabinet, believe me! You'd be hatin' life.

    Yup.
I have a commercial grade blast cabinet and compressor with aggressive media. No way, no how I would blast wheels. Powder coat is a #10 mofo to to blast and unless you have a screw style compressor your gonna run out of air real fast.
Pay the price, let somebody who does it for a living do it.
Check with the powder coater, they should offer blasting as part of the powder coating service. I had the same thought when I was building a couple of bikes and needed the frames powder coated, I could save a few bucks if I blasted them. Nope, the powder coater (Taint Paint out of the Springs) said they blast it anyway prior to coating and the price was the same.
As a matter of fact, I don't think I would use a powder coater that didn't blast them prior to coating them. You want them coated immediately after blasting to minimize any possibility of contamination.
