This x1000. I could give a shit about company policy about firearms. When leaving my house I always have a CCW. Plus, I'm not going to use a firearm in defense of my company's property. I will only use it if my own life is in immediate danger, or that of a coworker.

They may not have another option.

Shell is a big company. They are big enough to push insurance companies around and get any coverage they want. They just choose to have cheaper premiums

Extremely similar story to a year (or so) ago about the AutoZone employee who went out to his car and retrieved his gun during a robbery and potentially saved his manager's life... I believe we discussed this in pretty great detail.

Employers like dead helpless employees, less obamacare premiums.

I have always looked at it in the light, better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. I would trade the job for my life.

One of my favorite quotes! True statement right there. You can't defend your actions from the grave.

It's not really as simple as that. However, it doesn't matter, as none of the commercial policies I ever sold said anything about if employees could carry weapons on company property. I seriously doubt the insurance policy has anything to do with it.
