lets see, single, young, male. Not the ones at high risk for needing health insurance (other than getting hit by a bus). Exactly the people who choose to go without it and accept the risk. Exactly the same people who now must sign up and get essentially nothing in return.
Can see what there would be advertising to them.. Stupid but then most advertising is.
why not bong insurance? or failed suicide? oh I got naked and sawed off my hand in Aurora, is that covered too? gee thanks Obama...
I went from the age of 19-23 without insurance. Never got hurt, never went to the dentist or doctor. I also accepted the risk if I did get hurt I'd being paying out of sight bills. Here I am at age 29 with insurance, not Broncobama insurance.
Is there any human on the planet that would see those ads and think to themselves "You know what...I do need some brosurance."?
Brosurance ad campaign brought to you by your own tax dollars.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that - George Carlin
They would do better to invest that money in education. Wait, never mind, you can't fix stupid.
They need a large majority of men to sign up for health care coverage to make it cost effective. Women are significantly larger consumers of health care than men but one of the laws is that premiums must be equal for each gender ... so if men don't sign up it will increase costs dramatically.
It's much cheaper for me to pay the penalty than to have insurance --- I know better with the high risk activities I participate in that I need insurance but a lot of self employed folks can't afford it.
A lot of 18 to 25 year olds get government provided healthcare. It's called military service for some and a prison sentence for others.
