The first movie death song that popped into my head was "Knocking on Heavens Door" in the movie "Pat Garret and Billy the Kid". It was the background as Slim Pickens died.
The next song that came up was "Timothy" by the Buoys.
"The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" has always had a couple strong memories for me. I saw the ship while it was loading for it's last trip. Then I saw Gordon Lightfoot test the song to a small group of people in a coffee shop.
