    Default Any Decent AK 'smiths?

Anyone know of any gunsmiths, preferably on the Front Range, that do good work on AK's?

I have a WASR given to me by someone who owed me money. It has a small magazine issue (seating, unseating) and I would prefer someone with experience working on it.

    Thanks!

Not sure about in CO but if you decide to look outside of the state, Jim Fuller at Rifle Dynamics has a spotless reputation as an AK 'smith. He's a magician.

Anyone out there that can help with some canted sights on a AK in the Denver Metro with a quick turnaround?

I can help with mag seating and canted sights.
    I'm in the springs.

How swamped are you? I currently have had an AR that's been waiting over 6 weeks for a simple barrel extension swap-out.

Brownells has had them in stock since before I handed it over, so it's not a parts issue.

But I'd prefer to get the gun in and out as quickly as possible, considering we're one "incident" away from an outright ban.

I can have you in and out the same day, provided all parts are on-hand, and I don't have to make or order any special tooling. Mag seating on a wasr is just filing and/or grinding to remove the burrs, which should be a minimum-time ($30) half-hour job.

Let me know by email, or give me a call 719-594-6601.

Circuits does that count for canted sights? I have a Yugo and Romanian that are slightly canted. Could make a day trip you way in a week or two?

The usual fix for century canted sight base/gas block is to take out the pins (which can sometimes be quite a pain), whack the sight base or block straight, and reinstall the pins.

If the pins were severely misdrilled, this won't work, and it'd need to be filled or re-welded and redrilled straight, possibly with a new base or block, but most century cantings are pretty mild.

b_s_zero. That holds for the moment, at least, since I've been furloughed from my regular job. I could get recalled, or find something new at any time (hopefully), which would have me back to evenings and weekends only on the smithing side.
