Default AR Smith in the Denver Area

    Hi,

My Colt AR15 fails to pick up a round out of the mag on a regular basis, and I don't have the knowledge to fix it myself. Any recomendations for someone in the Denver area that can fix it?

If you're using known-good mags, then the next most likely culprit is that the mag isn't seating fully. This is easy to fix by tightening the mag catch down another turn.

Use a cartridge, or a pen or screwdriver to depress the mag catch button until you can turn the magazine catch on the left side of the receiver. One full revolution to the right will cause it to grab the mag tighter, and possibly provide a better seat. If it doesn't work, or is now too tight to easily release the mag, you can always unscrew it the single revolution again to restore it to its previous depth.

Thanks! I did not know that adjustment existed, I'll give it a try tomorrow.

If you can't get it to work, send me a PM.
