optics? Mounts?

Ok I removed the removable carry handle from my Bushmaster, put a flip down rear sight on it. I want to put a red dot or scope on it but I dont know what I need for mount/rings to be able to see both sights? I bought a "see threw" risor mount type gadget today, but it doesnt work, it puts the scope right where the sights cross? Need help. Thanks

I used and aimpoint with an A.R.M.S QD mount it works really good

Well, That's about where you want it too.. that way You can co-witness the dot and the irons... if both are hitting in the same spot,, You won't miss a beat if the battery dies...

If I put a red dot on without the risor they will all line up and the iron sights dont interfere with the red dot to bad? If thats the case I will try that. Thanks

No I wanna hang onto it just incase I need it later. I see them on ebay for like $50 though.

Not perfectly,,, But,, the dot itself may elevate high enough to do the same thing.. You will need a rear BUIS though..

below is the setup I use, the acog has night sights on top if it, in case it fails, and I have a buis folded up under that just in case.

Does the ACOG come with the night sights, or is that something you added on your own? Additionally, doesn't the knob on the top of the ACOG get in the way of the sights?

it comes with them, its model name is ta01nsn. nope it is out of the way.

I got the BUIS, I went with the yankee hill, thats what Jensens had. I think I will try a cheaper red dot tomorrow just to see how I like it then if I dont I'm not out much. And if I do like it I will save for a good one. Thanks for the help.
