    Default Montezuma CLEO signoff

Anybody know if Montezuma is NFA friendly from a CLEO signoff perspective?

But, do a trust $300. done deal. saves time right now. and money, time, headache, trouble later. Do you have a wife and or kids? what happens if you die and they cant legally possess your NFA item? Do a trust, then if something happens to you, there is no transfer fee, as long as they are LEGAL, they can possess the item. I have friends who went CLEO sign off in the last year or two and already regret not doing the trust.
If he doesn't, the easiest way to find out is call them.

Sorry, should have provided more info. It's not for me, I have a "personal" trust already, and my 07/02 FFL, of course, so I'm all set.

I have a friend who is looking into getting a suppressor or two, but money is really tight right now. We were talking last night about ATF 41p, the risk to trusts and the possibility of being "grandfathered" in if your paperwork is already pending with the ATF. He's based in Montezuma County and isn't sure if he can get a CLEO signature (on either a personal transfer or a post-41p trust transfer). If the local CLEO(s) are NFA-friendly, then there's not as high a risk - he can wait and do it when he has the cash. If they're not friendly, he may not be able to own a suppressor after any new rules take effect, and he'd better find the cash to get in queue, and hope for the best.
