    Default Fort Carson shooting team/club

A of you guys on Carson interested in starting club/team? Could accomodate most shooting types and I think I already have an in with the garrison command and mwr for approval. Also talked to a cast bullet maker down in Texas for possible sponsorship.

Let me know if there are any that are interested. Should be able to include retirees as well.

About twenty years ago the Fort Carson firefighters had a USPSA type team.
The members did well during the Kit Carson pistol competition. I suggest contacting the USAMU at Fort Benning for input on running a post team.

This. ^^^^ Always used to be a fun time. The "old" Kit Carson week was always a lot of fun. My first one was in 93 as I was never stationed here. Always was up north at Fitzsimons.

No you don't. Having ran ranges for 12 years they are boring and a PITA. The kit Carson rifle was held on the old Civilian range just west of what is now gate 20. As long as one had a range card it could be opened. Last time I shot there was 2001.

There were some 10 MTN group guys that shot STEEL Challenge at Pueblo a couple of years ago. The Local USPSA clubs get some military turn out.
Get enough soldiers together at some of the shoots and then talk to the post about sponsorship. Even if its only a Van to take you to the range.
