This is truly a situation where he should have gotten a reach around.
This entire episode is appalling and frightening.
What gets me is the gross incompetence of the medical staff.
Had they given him the prep laxative (polyethylene glycol) for a colonoscopy they would have made the rump wrangling unneccesary.
Unless they dig that kind of thing........
I don't know if the "Governmental Immunity" is an affirmative defense for the LE involved. For the judge, yes-he made a reasonable judgment as far as the SW.
But in my opinion the LE went waaay beyond "reasonable means and suspicion" by demanding the continued searches.
The X-rays should have been sufficient to asscertain the gent was not keester stashing contraband.
