But (pun intended) it is the innocent residents of Deming and Hidalgo County that are going to pay through taxes. After the x-ray, everyone involved in pursuing the course of action should (pending a thorough, and costly investigation of course) have licenses, certifications, etc. stripped (pun again). They will all probably get paid while on leave and then get compensation for termination (if it comes to that) while in the employ of a governmental agency. "We the people" are who pay for government employees improper actions. Sorry for the soapbox, and I do think the guy was abused way beyond what was reasonable if the facts in the news report are accurate.

Yes it is the taxpayers that will eventually pay. It matters who you hire and you are responsible for what they do in the course of their job.

I know, we're so far removed from it all at this point that those who pay have no control. We just dump our money through a hole in the wall and others spend it out of sight. Doesn't make it right but it is what it is.
