    Default Out of spec lower

So, I am in the process of throwing another rifle together. Trying to use an Aero Precision lower but this thing is the worst lower I've ever tried to assemble. For one thing, the magazine catch doesn't protrude far enough into the magwell to properly secure a magazine. Guess I'll have to do a little machine work in that area. Then, when I went to pin the Aero Precision upper I bought to the lower, I find out the pivot pin holes aren't machined square to the receiver. Not only is the pivot pin difficult to push through, but once you get it pinned it cocks the upper off to the side so bad it won't close because the bumpy thing on the rear of the upper receiver where the take down pin goes hits the top of the lower receiver.

Think I might just toss this thing aside and use it for a paper weight and buy a different receiver.

    Lol.

I'd choose Rob. I bought the darn thing at Bowers.

Get yourself a Magic School Bus velcro patch from Mike while you are there. I'm picking one up for the wife along with some camo wrap she was considering for the dogs.

I would say it's the upper, especially if it is a Square marked unit. They require a little finesse to get it in Seen 4 of them with different mfg names on them, still the square forge mark.

I thought that was you sitting there while Rob was working on something for you. I apologize for not being more friendly and introducing the wife.

Nah. That's what I thought at first too. But the upper fits nicely on other lowers and I put two other uppers on the Arero lower and they all get cocked as soon as you get the pivot pin pushed through.

Typically the pin bosses are the reference points all other dimensions are referenced to. If those are off, all other dimensions/locations are suspect.
