Default How do I find out when my glock gen 4 was made?

So I recently bought a used Glock gen 4. It did not have the fired casing with the date on the envelope. I was looking online and I have read that there is a code for the test fire date. While looking for this, I found no three digit code. It has the letters AT on it, which I've read means it was made in Austria (at least the barrel was). However I can find no other three letter code on the barrel. Is this code somewhere else? or do I just need to call Glock customer support? Thanks guys.

I don't have a link handy and I'm too busy/lazy to search, but if you go to the Glocktalk forum, they have a whole thread dedicated to serial number research.

Exactly. The 3-letter date code you're looking for isn't the date code, its the serial number. Something like NXY-872. The NXY part gives you the date.

It should be stamped on both the right side of the barrel at the ejection port, as well as the bottom, outside underneath the rail on the frame (its that shiny tag thing).

The only problem that I see here is that the three letters in my serial number don't align to any date in the database. The database according to both Glocktalk and stakhaus.com give me two letters that correspond to different months and one that aligns with a year number. Maybe I'm looking at an outdated list, but the first letters on mine are SRC.

Either call Glock to ask, or interpolate:

    SRF956 G-23 4.0 2012-02-22
    SRH650 G-23 4.0 0000-00-00
    SRK*** G-26 3.0 2012-02-27
    SRM0** G-26 3.0 2012-03-01
    SRM616 G-26 4.0 2012-04-26
    SRS80* G-30SF 3.0 2013-01-14
    SRT*** G-34 3.0 2012-02-23 adjustable sights
    SRT1** G-34 3.0 2012-02-00
    SRT7** G-34 4.0 2012-03-17 BLUE LABEL PACKAGE
    SRU*** G-36 3.0 2012-02-29 purchased 2012-06-01
    SRU00* G-36 0.0 2012-02-18
    SRU3** G-36 3.0 2012-02-29 purchased 2012-04-01
    SRU388 G-36 3.0 2012-02-29 WHITE LABEL
    SRU4** G-36 3.0 2012-02-29 Leap Year pistol! Whoo-hoo!

Most of those were made in February 2012, and they all start with SR, so if you don't want to call Glock to ask, then Feb 2012.

Thanks for that, for some reason I was having the hardest time finding anything close to my serial number, I figure that I'll still call Glock, just was curious if there was any other way of finding out without calling them, mostly because it's Sunday and I hate having to wait.

Well, I'm only saying make that interpolation because if I was a company manufacturing millions of products with serial numbers, I wouldn't go A...B...X...R...Q....C...D... etc. I would go A...B...C...D...E.... or AAA... AAB...AAC....AAD etc.

So I called glock today. They told me that it was made in late January of 2012. Your estimate was spot on. Thanks for the help.
