    Default Bacon Wrapped Turkey

Saw Turkeys on sale this week so decided to have a pre-game for thanksgiving
This day included lots of drinking.

Brine for 2 days in Bourbon and apple juice. Smoke for 3 hours a 200ºF, then finished off at 300 till I hit 170ºF. Smoked a Green Mountain Grill with Maple

Got a time estimate to hit 170* after the 3 hour initial smoke? I'm thinking about smoking a turkey this year.

How big of bird and how long? I'll be doing a 15 lb practice run next weekend on my GMG.

That looks yummy but I think I'll just stick to deep frying my turkeys.

I cooked my over 20lb bird in the Traeger last year. I just set the temp like the oven and popped the bird in and closed the lid. Came out perfectly based on the minutes per lb on the wrapper.

I had rave reviews and it was soooo easy. I used apple wood pellets.

Once you have the bacon on the bird, baste it hourly with maple syrup - it is awesome!
