Not really the amortization of addiction treatment, more the whole ball of wax. We have servicemen who can't get proper treatment, but I'll bet my bottom dollar that we are going to be significantly increasing "treatment" for other issues. While various "religious" groups have been offering (and for the most part helping) people with various mental, emotional and psychological issues for the last 200 years, the Federal Government is more and more forcing them out, hiring nanny state social workers and the results are getting worse. It is a brave new mess as I see it.Not into paying for addiction treatment you won't use?
(nor am I from general funds, that is the one acceptable use of a sin tax to me)
I think the big part is the no part as in we have no clue what we are going to do but we are thinking about it.
The specific substance abuse services that will be covered are currently being determined by the Department of Health and Human Services, and will take into account evidence on what services allow individuals to get the treatment they need and help them with recovery.
