Since there is a strong bias of voting for people flying the elephant flag... no matter what. You dont.

If the republicrats nominate christie or another McCain or another RINO, rest assured you will be told by the party people that voting for them is your duty.

It happened before, it will happen again.

ETA: Then if they lose they will proceed to blame people that voted libertarian, or people that just said STFU and didnt bother to vote. As if its your fault, somehow, that thier capitalistic candidate didn't win. If only you would have held your nose then we could have had a republican as POTUS and get more freedom like the the TSA/FISA/NDAA/NSA Spying etc etc

Don't let the terrorists and dope heads libertarians win ! Stop hating America! Forward !

It's been explained several times by those of us who believe in the "party trumps person" philosophy why we believe that. Rather than just saying sarcastically why it isn't so, why not give some reasoning to support your stance?

    Good gravy no.

And I saw a bunch of people that would be happy with Cruz as a nominee...from the little bit I have read about Cruz I thoroughly dislike him.

The whole government shutdown thing brought about a situation where a D senator from MI came out as the 1st congressman to say he will not accept a salary while the government was shut down because of the ridiculousness of the situation. A reporter asked Cruz shortly after that announcement if he would do the same and basically said "no way". The GOP apparently got ahold of him and told him that he needed to do it and all of a sudden he came out touting that he was not accepting a paycheck as if he came up with the idea.

He just seems to be another one of those GOP politicans who won't have what it takes to go toe-to-camel toe with Hellary. BUT as I said I only have a small amount of background knowledge about Cruz. However the impression I get from him is that I would very much dislike him.

The only person that I think I could feel like I'm not wasting my vote on would be Rand Paul (GOP wise anyways). If the GOP puts up a a stinker then it's back to the libertarian candidate for me.

I would hold my nose and vote for him. I held my nose when I voted for Romney and I vomited a little bit in my mouth when I voted for McCain, but the last time I voted Libertarian, we got Clinton in the White House.

Since you asked, and since I thought about it, not nearly as bad as I originally thunk. The biggest take-away I have from this experience is that the "progressives" showed their hand and consequently galvanized, to a certain degree, gun owners. That is we got two lock-step Democrats fired and are the verge of shit-canning a third. At least for the time being, I doubt gun rights will be an issue that will be thrown under the bus when our congress folk start "reaching across the aisle." I'll admit that I really like Johnson and wanted to vote for him but as Vegas was giving almost even odds on Romney pulling it off, I decided I'd rather be a nail in BHO's presidency aspirations than a vote against the Republican establishment.

I don't really see the correlation between the outcome of your presidential vote and the removal of smiley local gun-grabbers, but I will agree that what has happened here in our state has sent a strong message.

Regarding the 'vegas odds' of success: Since when is the speculation of others a guiding force for our actions? I'm personally tired of it. I'm tired of a chart or a graph telling me how I should invest. I'm tired of a pundit telling me how the leverage of my vote will ensure or take away victory from some asshole I'm not even voting for or against. I'm also really tired of commercials that are using testimony, bandwagon, etc. to try to tell me how I should be, buy and think.

Those are games. Anyone that tells you that you only have one option when you cast your vote is a fucking coward that is trying to influence you to swim in their direction.

Our right to vote is a pretty fantastic thing no matter how corrupt or broken we might think it is.

Pick the guy you want and stop hedging your bets. A landslide starts with just a little bit of earth shifting.

Still don't understand the "have to vote between the lesser of two evils" ideology. The primaries and caucuses are where your vote counts. That will decide whether we get solid representation from the GOP. If we don't, DO NOT show them support during presidential elections. The presidency is out of voter's hands anyway (Electoral college system still pissing on our faces and votes), so feel free to vote for an independent, Libertarian, or other third party member. It will help show the GOP that we want liberty-minded, true conservatives. Otherwise, they just see us voting for yet another charlatan moderate and assume that they can keep plugging away with big government, high tax, gun control supporting pseudo conservatives.

This is the same governor that directed his NJ to fly all flags at half staff in honor of Whitney Houston that OD'd on drugs?

...and the same governor that got all palsie-walsie and smoochie-woochie with Barry Saetoro after Sandy?

    ...uhhhh, probably not.

I hear you. I almost voted for a Democrat one time, but my hand started shaking and I broke out in a sweat and was looking all over the place to see if anyone was watching me...just couldn't do it.
