    Default Shotgun Side Match Questions

Hoser's sticky thread answered the big questions--number of rds and type, etc. But not having seen this before, there's still a few.

Is there a minimum/maximum magazine capacity?
    Is a sling required?
Are required reloads typically called out--for example a mandatory load or a load-what-you-fire sequence?
    Are sights required?

I don't have a stock (just a pistol grip) currently. If I don't have one by then, will that be an issue.

Is there any reason we can't use a Class III registered short barreled shotgun?

    No capacity restrictions.

    No sling required.

Load it how you want. Just dont shoot a slug when they want buck or birdshot. Its up to you to manage your ammo.

No sights are required. Beads work just fine, in fact I like them a lot more than ghost rings.

No rules on what type of stocks you can use.

SBS are fine. If Uncle Sam says you can have one, you can use it.

Okay, that's great. I've spray-painted all my stuff flat black, got my tactical T-shirts and first-responder ball cap scruffed-up, and just ordered a pair of 12-ga bandoliers. I just need to buy a pair of those 'hostage rescue team' boots, get a heat guard for the 870 and I think I'm all set.

I've often wondered what it'd be like to do an IDPA match while wearing three vest and having additional plates duct taped to my back.

I wasn't aware of the Gecko45 legend. What a blast. I was only a couple of minutes into my research before I found what is allegedly the duct-taped trauma plate thread. If the guy wasn't serious, he sure did a great job of writing.

My favorite so far is the alleged response to the alleged original post "If your Plan A is to take multiple .338 Lapua hits to the back, then you really need a Plan B." Even my manly abs are aching from laughing so hard.

I'm putting in my order for 5.11 clothing now, and even found a MOLLE beverage cup holder for the jeep that fits a standard Starbucks 'venti' size cup. I'm having trouble finding a MOLLE pouch for the iPod Classic that's not too thick, though, but I may have found one that's just right for my Blackberry that I special-orderd in 'coyote tan'.
