Not a good thing when our fed govt keeps on mingling in 'free market.' Lowering the rate won't really help the market. Now days some banks' min requirements for purchases are 740 fico, 10% down on conventional, and 620 fico, w/ 3.5% down on FHA. Most applicants don't mind paying 6% or higher as long as they get approved... Approval rate is 2 out 3 and turn down rate is 3 out of 4.. scary numbers.

What's the point of making 4.5% rate available but the ones who can really benefit from it cannot even qualify.

So very true.... Just wait untill they really pump cash into the system and inflation hits.... Remember back in the day when in Russia it took a wheel barrow full of paper for a loaf of bread!??!? When people don't study history and don't understand economics horrible things ate bound to happen.

If you are to compare the history line during Carter and Reagan presidencies, current events are scarily similar. I just hope they learnt something from that decade.

I just hope they don't pin the inflation rates to my current debts, so I can pay them all off with one paycheck.

Can't speak for your situation, but this will only help me if my employer pins my check to inflation rates... something tells me we won't have one without the other..

They'll create a new currency before they allow that!
