    Default Which 40 cal?

So, I've been toying around with the idea of picking up something in 40 S&W but not sure what. Follow me here for a minute....

When I think of something in 9mm I usually picture a Glock or a Beretta. (The High Power comes to mind as well).

When I think of something in 45 ACP I think of the 1911.

When I think of something in .357 Magnum I think of a S&W revolver.

But, when I think of something in .40 S&W I just draw a blank.

I guess those older S&W autos sort of come to mind but pretty sure I don't want one of those. Sig maybe?

What handgun comes to mind as sort of the "benchmark" 40 S&W when you think of it?

    Don't they make a 1911 in 40?

Look within the caliber: Smith and Wesson?

For what its worth, I LOVE my M&P40c and it is my favorite over my Glock 23 now!

Just about anything chambered in 9mm is also made in .40 S&W.

While I don't think there is any real advantage to .40 S&W, I do enjoy the ability to barrel swap the same pistol into .357 SIG.

SIG P229 and P250 or Glock 22 and 27 here. You are welcome to run a few mags through mine.

I understand that, just curious which exact model first comes to mind when someone thinks of a 40 cal.

The only reason I am even toying with the idea of getting one is that it seems like when 9mm and 45 can't be found anywhere there always seems to be some 40 on the shelves.

Since you're thinking 40. Go for 10mm and make the 45 acp bitches jealous.

Walther P99 if it was good enough for James Bond. What else can be said ?
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

I haven't watched the newer James Bond films. The PPK will always be James Bond's pistol in my mind.

+1 for the 10mm, but I think of the first gun I ever bought which was a xd 40 s&w... Still have xd9 in fde, but have moved to gen4 glocks.
