I guess that cemented my following of the show.

I would also recommend Red Dwarf. Not similar to Dr Who, really, but decent English humor, based in space.

Got hooked on all the Brit comedy stuff, The Young Ones, Benny Hill, Are You Being Served? etc. when I was in Germany in the early 80's because we got BFBS instead of AFN. That lead to a general following and watching Red Dwarf when it ran in later years.
    My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

Just watched the Commercial free Day of the Doctor. (Yeah DVR) and there's one guy who kind of looks like Lister in it.

SPOILER ALERT: SO where does Clara fit in, come the 13th Dr. ?

I don't see the answer. Is the song in the Google home screen game from the original or the new version? To be more specific, I mean the tune when it shows the phone booth spinning around, so you'll have to beat the first level of the Google game to see what I'm talking about.

Also, the very first one I saw on Netflix just randomly starts out with some Aztecs, with zero introduction as to who any of the cast are, or any of the premise of the show at all. Is that the first episode?

I think Eccleston did a good job. Baker was the Dr when I first watched it in the 70's. The show is all about the writers. Moffat has been good for the show but Russel Davies really gets the credit for reviving the show and making it the hit that it has become over the past eight years.
