I saw that in there. very sad story. too bad the cops didn't get him ahead of time.

That is sad. Why a guy like that is on the street anyways is sad with a history like that.

My thoughts and prayers and certainly with these officers and their families.

This is just another example of how the Justice system has failed. This guy was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon? How did someone with that type of conviction get parole? Now, 3 (realistically 4) officers doing their duty to protect their community have been slain. When will we start truly penalizing those who do harm to others; especially if they use weapons to do it?

With all of that said, I'm frustrated by the bias of the reporting (not that it isn't expected). "Mixon used two different weapons: a gun at the first scene and an assault rifle at the apartment building ". So, the "assault rifle" isn't a "gun". The long and the short of it is that this violent criminal, out on parole, continued to demonstrate a disregard for the safety and well-being of others and chose to use 2 firearms to do it [PERIOD]
