Without Incog you light up like a christmas tree from miles away at little penalty to the shooter besides a colorless recticle. Dead silience has became another manditory perk due to how loud everyone is walking and running. Tact resist is almost a must have due to flash bangs lasting 10 in game secs. That's only 3 perks and you might get 2 more if your lucky.

Weapons - intagrated attachments is new, not sure how I feel about them, none of my setups use those weapons. Weapon balance is better then in bo2 but I think it has more to do to map size. Bo2 just had to many small maps. Marks rifle have always been in the games it's just the first time they gave them there own catagory.

    Riley's cool but not balanced.

Not sure what you mean an improvement in mentaling, seems the same and maybe even worse then before.

Leaning - has been a big part of the COD series up to MW1, ever since then they took it out because the game was designed around console use rather then PC. The lean in the game is gimmicky at best, you have to be to perfectly cornered on the wall to make it work, and at least for me throws your shot off when your ADSing. I actually had to turn off lean because of the above reason.

Sliding - fun but glitches out, hopefully they fix this soon but your head box doesn't move during 50% of the move. Even though the animation shows differently, I've gotten many head shots because of this. I believe this is a lag issue but seen it enough times to know not to change my aim.

Knifing working? WTH? Panic knifing is the biggest problem in this game since MW2. You shouldn't be able to use a knife unless it's equipped as a weapon. There's to many lag issue with knifing. The only game I've seen knifing done right has been battlefield. Knifing someone's hand shouldn't equal auto kill.

Kill streak selection is meh at best at least for me. I run the same support streaks for all my classes. And holy crap are there over power kill streaks. That's really no different then any other call of duty game. But you get OP ones pretty early.. Such as Riley. Also in certain boards winning team is usually the first team that fills out the field order and gets the death drop package. Nothing like nuking a whole board and having it emp'd for a min to sway a game for you.

Clan wars - have been around since MW3 through elite. The only difference is now you don't need a elite account it was merged.

I'm not sure what this squad mode thing of earning xp while your not online is. I'll have to look at it later.

Prestiging is now pointless. They might as well had the rank system go to a 1000. It's so bad now that even when people see master prestige players (hacked) no one gives a damn anymore because it doesn't do anything for u besides a couple back grounds.

More game types?!? Obviously you don't play hardcore. We kinda got fucked on every aspect. The only 2 "new" game modes they added that I'm aware of was blitz and crank, and they had to get rid of CTF and ground war to do that. BO2 EASILY doubled the game modes that ghost had.

Extinction - is very fun and I hope Traydarch uses some of those ideas in zombies. But the problem with extinction is that it's beatable. 4players with mics with understanding of how the game works can beat it. 6 auto sentry guns completely upgraded, shred through everything even when you use artifacts, hope the next release is harder.

Being able to change your appearance and sex is nice addition if you grown up and played with Barbie. :P

DLC bringing a new weapon each pack is nice but BO2 did this already if you bought the map pack pass and battlefield has been doing this since bad company a game that's over 5 years old!!

New engine!?!? Dude... The cake is a lie... Seriously activation had to apologies for that one and then said"it's the same engine but it's been "significantly" improved."

The new maps are very fun and it's allowed me to enjoy this game so much, but seriously you think there's less camping??? I've never seen camping at such a high level till this game, and what's worse then the camping is the "random" spawn locations, yea that's frustrating.

Kill streaks as mention above are still overpower, specially Riley! Takes one center of mass shot with a bolt action to kill a player. TAKES 2 HEADSHOTS to kill Riley! Or 3 anywhere. And since Riley is AI he doesn't suffer from lag. Now here's the trick with Riley, sit in a tight corner where players have to turn practically on top of you to see you.
Now since Riley has no lag to the server anytime a player corners there automatically killed even if the player is shooting it doesn't register to the server before the AI gives the attack command. Riley is all but invincible. Hind attack heli is way to powerful and the reason why I have to use a support kill streak for MAAWS. The new UAV idea is cool though, but I usually never run a UAV kill streak on my bars, it's a wasted slot and most players already have it equipped anyways. Juggernaut maniac is a bit over the top but luckily it requires 10 kills in a roll to get and arn't immune to thermal sights.

Nothing about this game is innovative. Just because you dress a turd up, give it accessories and new rims doesn't make it any less of a turd, but a shiny one.

Despite all that I'll play this game till the people I play with stop.
Well said. I absolutely agree 100%. However, just because my friends are playing this game doesn't mean I'm buying it. I'll stick with Battlefield 4. Call of Dookie has become nothing more than an over-polished turd of a game. It's a basic arcade-style shooter that has neat sparklers to make you go, "OOoohh & AAAhhhh", and that's it. The luster has worn off (at least for me anyway). I know several of my friends who already traded it back in for something else. I didn't waste my $$$ on Modern Warfare 3 and won't be wasting it on this game. For those of you who buy it, I hope you enjoy it.

I'll purchase the XBox One when it comes down in price and any/all bugs get worked out. Just like with the 360. My friend's PS4 took a dump after owning it for 1 week (hard drive crashed). I figure we will start seeing similar problems with the Xbox One soon enough. Maybe with taxes next year, again if they come down on price and perhaps offer a console without that damn Kinect bullshit.

The funny thing is that I always hear people in every CoD game talk about perks that are mandatory and they're usually perks I've never used or not much and I still do just fine. In the past there were fewer perks so depending on which one you had and if it was pro or not it was pretty powerful. With them splitting up different aspects of each perk into it's own perk it balances them out much better. As for Thermals I don't use them because they suck and I have yet to find someone that regularly gets the better of me using them. They're just not as powerful as your post makes it seem. Besides, if you think they're that powerful you can always run the park that cancels them out so you don't show up. Problem solved. I haven't yet felt the need to use it because to me the good players really don't use it anyway. I do use Dead Silence as well as Amplify because I use headsets and IW makes the audio ques in their versions functional so I tend to sound whore and that's why I use those two perks. Not everyone does. Tac resist? Never used it (I don't think) and I do just fine. With everyone taking out their grenades to have more perk slots I really don't see too many grenades at all in this game. The most annoying has to be the IED though and I think I see more of those than just about any other type of grenade, lethal or tactical.

The weapon balance has nothing to do with the maps being bigger they're just more balanced. There's no gun glitches or super powerful weapons because a weapon that is strong in one category is usually weaker in another to balance it out. It's not like previous games where EVERYONE was running an M16 or EVERYONE was running a Type-95 because if you didn't you were at a tremendous disadvantage. You see people running just about every weapon type and just about every weapon within each category.

How is Riley not balanced? Are you saying he's too powerful or not powerful enough? I read later on you said he was OP. I disagree and for me I use other people's Riley against them and there's plenty of ways you can do this. The easiest is with a headset and using all the various sound cues to your advantage. I hear when an enemy whistles for him and I know 1) where he is and 2) that he just got a dog. Plan accordingly. Riley also whimpers and whines when he gets bored or anxious so once again you can use that. He also growls when you get near so you can use this to plan accordingly as well. The key to these games is finding out what things you can use to your advantage and Riley is a good example of something you can use against an enemy. He's also a lot easier to kill then some might say.

Mantling is FAR better than previous games. Before, if you had to mantle it would stop your momentum and drop your gun and it would take FOREVER to complete the action. Time from starting the mantle to being able to fire again used to take about 3x longer than it does now. I don't find myself getting annoyingly killed because I had to hop over a waist high obstacle and it took an unreasonable amount of time to clear it. Now if you time the button press properly you will kind of hop over it on the run and your firearm won't be out of the fight for very long at all. It's a noticeably better action now and doesn't feel like an unnatural & momentum crushing movement.

I understand that leaning isn't all new (which is why I put 'in consoles' in parenthesis) but it's new to the current series on consoles. It was there on PCs for some of them and for some earlier versions but it's a lot more natural mechanic now than it was before.

I haven't experienced the sliding head box glitch you were talking about. Can you explain what you're experiencing?

While I agree that you should have a knife equipped to use it (they sort of did this with the combat knife attachment which allows you to knife quicker) and have said so since MW1 I & don't think that in practice this will work since most FPS gamers are used to having a melee motion. To the people to complain about panic knifing I like to remind people that you probably get as many 'lucky' panic knives as you get killed by them. In the end it averages out so nobody is really getting an advantage in the end. What they did in Blops2 to try to 'fix' the knife made it the worst knife of any version of this game. Sure it wasn't ideal in the previous games but it was consistent. I had to train myself out of using a melee up close which is a motion I had used for over a decade in FPS games and now I wasn't able to since it was basically broken. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't and there was no rhyme or reason to it. Removing all consistency isn't how you fix an issue.

Just because you use the same streaks for every loadout doesn't mean the option isn't there. If you aren't setting up loadouts with different kill streaks for different situations then you're missing out on a large feature of the new loadouts. This was always something that frustrated me with the previous games because you would be locked in to whatever you put before the game started (or none if you screwed up) and was easily correctable by letting players set their steaks in their classes/loadouts. They finally did this and to those of us who have varied options it's an improvement.

Clan Wars hasn't been around like this since MW3. It's a completely different experience now and it's actually enjoyable and adds a nice feature that didn't previous exist like this.

No, I don't play hardcore game modes (often) and most people don't. Keep in mind that they dropped CTF for ALL playing modes and while that sucks they added two new gametypes in it's place. Blitz is similar to CTF in the way it plays but more fun to play IMO. I thought I would miss CTF more than I do but with the options available it's not something I have given much thought to. Also, the focused game options also makes for quicker/better lobbies and game connections and allows them to pair you with better connections and comparable ability since there's more players within that specific game type. As for Ground War... MY god was that game mode awful. it was a laggy dog turd most all of the time and to claim it was anything else is romantiising the past. Ground War was largely unplayable and they took it out of the game for the PS3/360 and I'm just fine with that. The hardware just can't handle it. If you want Ground War you'll need to play it on a PS4 or Xbox One where the hardware can actually handle it.

As for Extinction, what level have you beat it on? Sounds like you may need to try veteran.

The Barbie comment is just silly. Just because you don't like customizing your character to what YOU want them to look like doesn't mean that 99% of gamers don't. If you don't care for it nobody says you have to do it. For those that like to be unique it's a nice feature.

Blops2 didn't give you a new weapon with each DLC map pack... it had ONE at the beginning, the Peacekeeper. Devs even admitted that they wanted more but the hardware couldn't handle anything more and was maxed out with the introduction of the Peacekeeper. This time they're introducing a new firearm with EACH new map pack for a total of FOUR new weapons. Not one. Big difference.

As far as the engine goes.... you do realize that EVERY engine is a tweak version of a previous engine, right? That's how gaming works. Rarely are engines entirely new builds from the ground up and if they are they generally are buggy and nearly unplayable. Even BF's precious Frostbite engines were all remakes of a previous engine. The Cod platform had been running an ancient Quake engine from the early 2000's and had a lot of glaring bugs and issues that could never be tweaked out of the game. For some reason casual gamers decided that 'new engine' HAD to be coded all new from the ground up to be considered new. Most of understand gaming not only KNOW that 'new engines' aren't new but don't want them to be ground-up new anyway as those tend to be even more buggy and take several generations to work out most of the quirks. Why do you think Activision sourced a dated Quake engine for the FPS and then ran it for several versions over several years?

Camping? What game type are you playing? In my experience Hard Core game types lend to more camping so if you don't like camping maybe you should try other game types? Having played all the versions of CoD the camping in this game is noticeably lower. There just aren't the same power points on a map that one or two individuals can take over and reign down fire for the entire game and the entire enemy team can't dig them out the way you say in previous versions.

You clearly have your opinion set in stone so we'll just agree to disagree about the game not being innovative because even ignoring EVERYTHING I just said the game still plays far better than previous versions so that alone is an innovation as this series goes. I feel like I've been paying retail for alpha & beta tests for years now. Games that were broken before they were ever even launched and never really fixed quite right in the year or two I played them. BF hasn't been w/o it's flaws either so I'm not bashing on CoD alone. Oh well, still the best couple of options we have for this game type/style.

We have a Xbone chapter to the clan already. We'e got a few from our clan that play it on the One & most of us plan to move to the One sooner or later. I have had one sitting in a box since launch day but I haven't yet opened it. I've got it on CL because if someone wants to pay me more than what I paid then so be it. Until they get the headset fiasco sorted out I have no desire to make the migration.

Existing 360 headsets won't work. I have a nice pair of Turtle Beach gaming headsets that won't work on the One. Supposedly Turtle Beach plans to have an adapter by the end of January. I'll wait to see because I'm not buying another $300 gaming headset.

Our clan just won another season (week-long) of Clan Wars in the Platinum Division. In fact we scored 242pts and the 2nd place team had only 85pts. We've unlocked 12 items only attainable from being in a clan including weapon camos & patches. On top of that people in the clan have received 20-40% more XP for playing regular matchmaking game types (TDM, Dom, Blitz, KC, HCTDM, HCKC, etc.) just for being in the clan when they play their favorite game type. If you have a headset, aren't a squeaky kid and are above a 1.00 K/D & W/L you should send me a friend request and if you play well with the clan we'll invite you to be part of it. Since most clan members use headsets for sound whoring you have to be able to keep the chatter to a minimum and only to game call outs and no being the loudmouth in the lobbies that instigates fights and arguments. We also are in need of people who are active and play the game regularly as Clan Wars are more about quantity than quality. The 3rd season starts today so we're looking to add a few more members to continue growing and remaining competitive. We've got over 20 solid members and are nearly a level 12 which is increasing at a rapid rate.

Here's the gun camo we just unlocked - Body Count Camo:

After this next week we'll have the next unlock which is the Body Count Reaper Head:

If you want onboard with ANY of that just for being a member of a clan w/o having to play other clans or do anything different as far as games you play, here's your chance.

Not to derail your thread like you asked, but I wish more people played on the PC platform! (I realize it's *infinitely* easier for people to plunk down the $250-400 for a single console that now has impressive media capability, rather than spend close to $1,000 to get a decent gaming PC that requires lots of peripheral shit [monitors, mouse, keyboard, speakers/headphones])

I grew up playing with Keyboard & Mouse and just can't 'drop down' to playing with an IMO limiting console controller : (

Jer, do you like the Battlefield series?
I love PC, I just switched over. But to simplify everything it is hooked to my TV through HDMI just like an xbox, and I can hook it to my cable box and have a DVR. For $8 I got a module that lets me use my xbox controllers, and not to mention steam and origin sales where I get newish games for next to nothing all the time. I got farcry 3 the other day for $7; PC is the way to go for sure.

But back to the OP, do you play BF4 as well? I would be interested to hear a balanced perspective from someone who plays both. I got pissed at MW3 and both BO's sucked badly mostly because of the run and gun assholes that you have to play against that kill you across the map with a friggin hatchet.

Using an Xbox controller on a PC against other PC players using the mouse/keyboard combo puts you at a sizable disadvantage. That would be the only downside to that setup.
