Default Can we boycott the NFL already?

I've long had issues with professional athletics ... not with the athletes or the fans or any of that, but with the Professional Athletic Organizations themselves (NFL, NBA, MLB, etc). I see them as corrupt, crony capitalist organizations that build their stadiums with wealth stolen from the people via taxes on land stolen from the people via imminent domain. They're a part of the "circuses" in the "Bread and Circuses" to keep the people distracted while the leviathan state slowly eats us.

Anyway, The NFL ... for the last couple of Super Bowels (yes I spelled it wrong on purpose) the NFL has run ads from MAIG supporting gun control.

    2012

    2013

This year Daniel Defense tried to buy a spot on the Super Bowel but were refused because the NFL are a bunch of leftard blissninnies married to the Demonrat party and their agenda.

The BS excuse given is here in their advertising guidelines (PDF at link):

    5. Firearms, ammunition or other weapons are prohibited; however, stores that sell firearms and ammunitions (e.g., outdoor stores and camping stores) will be permitted, provided they sell other products and the ads do not mention firearms, ammunition or other weapons.

Daniel Defense's obviously evil and over the top ad supporting giving machine guns to children on Ritalin and letting them murder their little friends.

Note that nowhere in here am I demanding that the NFL be forced by law to stop running MAIG ads or start running pro-gun ads, so the first person that comes around here whining about the first amendment can just shut up now lest you look foolish. Yes, they have every right to dress all the teams up in rainbow uniforms, change all the team names to the titles of Noam Chomsky essays and donate all their profits to Earth First. But as customers we do have a say in what organizations we spend with the dozens of votes we cast every day with our dollars.

It will never...and I do mean never...happen because of this reason. Now if they continue to raise ticket prices you might have a case for it, but there's such a small group of people who care about the NFL's politics it wont ever gain any traction.

    Oh, and Go Broncos

I am with you Zundfolge. I do not endorse ANY pro NFL team and never will. They are all a bunch of over-paid thugs, low-life turds from the top to the bottom. That is all.

It always bothers me when people on here cry about getting lumped in with guys like Holmes and the Newton punk who I forgot his name...and then they go and lump every single NFL player together with a couple of bad people who have made national news.

Problem is most of them are so called bad guys. You are not going to change my mind. The league itself has promoted the Obama agenda from day one. The league halted the purchase of the St.Louis Rams to Rush Limbaugh in 2009 because of his so called views. The NFL was all set to air Obama care commercials/propaganda all thorough its telecasts with the start of the season. Thankfully backlash stopped that. The anti gun commercials are just one of many reasons I wont drink the National Felon League koolaid. They can take thier.message and stick it up Peytons Arse.

Not trying to change your mind, just pointing out that by you generalizing all football players and criminals means that your right to get upset the next time someone lumps you in with Holmes or the like is hereby permanently revoked.

I boycotted all professional sports long ago. Not worth my time or dime.

The OP laid out rather well the reasons the NFL irritates me. They are just as profit driven as any multinational. And I wish they weren't so tied up with the government.

The reason why a boycott against the NFL will never happen is the same why the boycott against hunting in Colorado failed miserably. People do not want to forgo those things they enjoy watching (or doing) just to prove a point.

The shooting community is all up in arms about "the infringement against our rights" until their individual wants are affected. Sadly, we are not a cohesive movement.

Oh and, just like Hoser, I refuse to watch any and all "professional" sports.
