Long range shooting locations

Anyone know of any good places in Colorado for long range work (as in 600-1000 yards)? Preferably within a 2 hour drive from Boulder. BLM land out on the plains perhaps? National forest land somewhere? I plan to take my Gazetteer on some scouting missions to find such places but thought I would ask for a hint first
