MVA's are weird things. Cars do weird things on impact. I have seen low speed accidents where the vehicle was demolished and high speed ones where the vehicle was nearly driveable.

Yes he wasn't going very fast but also understand that his car did what it should have in that impact. The "tub" was still intact, the rear subframe snapped off it, but the tub remained in place. In order for you to crack a CF tub in half you need to be moving fast.

It broke the same way, right in front of the "K member". The bodies were still in the "tub" and front half of the car. As for cracking any laminate, they are not strong torsionally.

Real bum deal all around. He's just a year older than me, and my wife and I nearly met our maker last week. Going to Texarkana to see the mother in law, some idiot passed on a curve on a two lane road west of Sherman. Idiot got back over with less than 2 car lengths to spare in front of me. Told my wife, head on collision at 70+mph each, no one walks away from that.
