No amount of fluid on the street, mechanical woes, or other issues will cause a car, any car, to end up like that Porsche ended up....if driving at normal speeds. At the posted 45mph limit that street had, you could drive that car into a concrete wall and live through it.

I just saw the scene on a report on TV, the speed limit was 35, not 45... Even at 35 you can still screw up enough in a high performance car and be killed. It happened on Sheridan a few years ago, 37 MPH, driver killed (I know the Lakewood traffic investigator who investigated the accident).

I never was a fan of the Fast and Furious movies.

The Porsche Carrera GT was an awesome vehicle. When the vehicle will go from sitting still to 60mph in 3.5-3.9 seconds (depending on whose website you're reading), it doesn't take long to find yourself in deep trouble. This car has one of the best exhaust notes I've ever heard.

You can also be killed by falling in your bathtub....but you cannot, no matter how hard you try, do this to a car at 45mph:



If if boiled down to those two fatally wrapping some carbon fiber around a telephone pole, or hurting a single bystander, I'm glad it went the way it did.
