    Default FTF Sales

There is a post in the firearms for sale thread about how to go about a FTF transaction. (Do you need a bill of sale, what are the requirements etc...)
Below that is a guy listing a wanted to buy post in the same thread as the post mentioned above. I am posting this here because I feel it is more of a General Discussion thread than a for sale thread.
I stated in the FTF transaction post that you should meet with the person and get a feel for who they are when doing a FTF. Do they have a reputation on the board, do they post things like "kill everyone" or "I hate" messages. Use those things as well as what sense you get about the person when meeting them to determine if you should sell or not.

A perfect example is the other post that I mentioned above...
A new guy posts a wanted ad in the for sale thread. Someone politely tells them that they have posted in the wrong place. The new guy gets rude and does not listen. Here is my point... If you cannot follow simple rules on a forum board and want to get belligerent when someone is trying to help you... THERE IS NO WAY YOU WILL EVER GET ONE OF MY GUNS!!!
    That's how I roll...

I agree with Both sides of the argument to an extent. If (he) wants papers, pictures, blood type, semen, etc then he should be able to ask. However I would walk away unless he was selling the deal of a lifetime and I'd be an idiot for not jumping through his hoops. Otherwise I'd walk every time paperwork was asked to fill out. My reasoning is if I wanted paperwork I'd go to a dealer who is in the business of "paperwork" and has a fixed location and hopefully a good reputation. If someone asked me for the info that was asked in the mentioned post I'd ask him for his. See what that does. Turn the paperwork on him.

On that note why do alot of people here (on this site) ask for a CO ID? I just always wondered if you can't sell to someone who does not have a CO ID within CO.

although I think people can sell to anyone the choose to. I would have to agree with you on one point, If I get a weird feeling about someone they wont get anything I have for sale either. But as far as just being rude, he is new and maybe just a little more slack is needed. maybe just a bad day and he is still a great guy. Idk just a thought, to get more info before we judge off of one post. But yes he could have taken the advice a lot better as you said...

I'll expand on these thoughts later maybe.. but you can choose who to sell to or buy from. The law, pesky as that gets, says that you only have to ensure (reasonably = define that for your self, you're gown ups aren't you?) that you are selling to someone that can legally possess that weapon.

None of this bill of sale, copies of drivers licenses and the other presumptuous crap that some of you come up with as pre-requisites of your sales gives you a damn bit of "protection", uh the ignorance amazes even the dull witted masses, where are you guys from Kalifornia? I'm sure the less enlightened and educated will go about their semi-informed lives and buy your stuff. Learn the fooking law boys, stop presuming that a bill of sale is your get out of jail free card. Sweet mother of gawd, ask your momma's for your testies back, educate yourselves, make adult decisions and decern who you are or are not willing to sell to based on your own ability to assess who you feel comfortable with conducting business with.

God bless the errornet and those who seek it's wisdom... I for one will not buy your over priced firearm and submit to your weak minded comfort papers. If you cannot educate yourself and decide without the need for an imaginary baby blanket, aka bill of sale and buyers personal info.. then I have no desire in any way shape or form to give you anything other than my scorn.

What ever BadShot. If I was still in the dating scene, I'd be getting a copy of a birth certificate and driver's license before receiving ANY ******* from girls, lest I find out later that they only SAID they were 19, and were actually 15. Let's face it, those **** led me to reasonably believe that she could legally possess **************.
