Much like other nanny laws, this punishes everyone because of one or two assholes. WY has no such restrictions and does not seem to have issues with idiots or poachers taking down entire herds.
That's why you carry a hand gun when out in the field.

That's not correct. You can't meet the restriction by simply downloading bigger magazines.

This. I also believe concealed is permitted in the field when you're carrying a long gun. I didn't pay much attention to the specifics because I open carry when hunting and have a CHP regardless. I don't know whay anyone would conceal carry while hunting. With all the gear you're likely to have on, you're fucked if you need ready access.

Also this. You must have a limited capacity or magazine block. Like I said in my earlier post, it's also wise and quite possibly required, to have it affixed so that it's not readily removable in the field.

Yeah this is so wrong it's pitiful. I'm sorry the DOW official mislead you. It's kinda like not having your plug in your shotgun and going by the honor system.

Concealed carry is allowed with or without a permit while engaged in the act of hunting....

Not stopping at the gas station on your way up..... While hunting.

The reason they have the law that way is because they don't want someone's coat to cover their sidearm on accident and then get hemmed up on charges. Like you said.... Lots of gear.

The restriction says nothing about carrying a handgun for self defense. Same with archery hunting. I carry a handgun then as well.

Removable is fine. Shotguns work the same way. a plastic plug or stick works fine. I've been checked multiple times and have had both. He verified it held 2+1 and was on my way.

Tell me how this rule promotes public safety? Tell me how it does anything productive and I might not consider it BS.

Never said I don't honor it, got a mag in the box painted blaze orange with a block in it.
