Got to get them when they are young, make them fear the gov, keep the kids in line and make good little slaves. The kid just has a broad sense of humor. So do I, nothing if out of bounds as long as there is no malice. If anyone has a problem with that, then it is that person with the problem, not me.

Should the police investigate? If they have the resources available sure. I can think of a non-threatening meaning behind the "now I'm ready for school" comment. I don't know what the kid meant when he posted it, but it sure is worth asking?

Given the world we live in, many posts on this board could be considered as Disturbing the Peace.

In this case, charging a 13 year old with DP for a pic and a comment, IMO is counter productive to a well functioning justice system. It is like hunting flies with a 12 gage.

im sure the cops could speak with him, friends and family and find out the truth. without hanging an arrest on him that will be with him for a long time.

    ^ This.
His actions were poor but there is no need to give a 13 year old a criminal record for a picture and some words. To me this is just the nanny state getting their money and trying to do the parenting.

I've been told by many people that in the 80s-early 90s they used to have guns in their car when they went to high school as seniors, and after school they usually go duck hunting. Time change.

Back in the day, many schools had shooting clubs. I talked to one gentleman that used to take his .22 rifle on the school bus with him to school, and then walked home with the rifle looking for small game to feed the family.

I carried my .22 rifle to school. I was on our rifle team, our range was in the basement of our school. Kept the rifle in my locker through the day. This was in the 70's in NY State!!

Hell, my high school had a shooting range in the basement that we used in JROTC, and in junior high I took my Savage Model 24 to school in a grocery sack and stuck it in my locker until my after school hunter safety course.

My cousin along with a couple of his friends took their shotguns to school alomost everyday in the late 80's and early 90's during waterfowl season, they did a lot of hunting before and after school. There was never a problem.

This was before they were medicating so many people with psychotropic drugs.
