Boy, little jumpy in Redding it seems. Though with the caption he put on the pic I'd get a bit worried too. The other pic they went after a kid over was way out of line.

Nothing like posting something with a Ready for school caption 4 days before the CT school shooting.

You might as well put a KAFIR'S ONLY sign up outside Mandela's Casket.

Did you read the article or just the headline? I don't think the police were out of line arresting that dumbass kid for posting a pic of 2 guns and captioning it "Ready to go to school." Some pellet guns look pretty real, especially in pic taken by a phone.

Yes I read the whole article.

We live in a hypersensitive time these days. I see nothing wrong with what he posted in the caption. I remember bringing bb guns to school and being "ready to go to school" with them. Even had them for show and tell a few times.

I would encourage every kid to post a picture of an AR-15 on their social networking accounts. We need to desensitize everyone from panicking every time they see one.

Got to get them when they are young, make them fear the gov, keep the kids in line and make good little slaves. The kid just has a broad sense of humor. So do I, nothing if out of bounds as long as there is no malice. If anyone has a problem with that, then it is that person with the problem, not me.

you seem to forget he lives in CT. They are kind of sensitive about anyone making remarks about schools and pictures of guns.

There is a fine line between common sense and stupidity. He falls in to the latter

Should the police investigate? If they have the resources available sure. I can think of a non-threatening meaning behind the "now I'm ready for school" comment. I don't know what the kid meant when he posted it, but it sure is worth asking?

Given the world we live in, many posts on this board could be considered as Disturbing the Peace.

In this case, charging a 13 year old with DP for a pic and a comment, IMO is counter productive to a well functioning justice system. It is like hunting flies with a 12 gage.

I've been told by many people that in the 80s-early 90s they used to have guns in their car when they went to high school as seniors, and after school they usually go duck hunting. Time change.
