Long thin stuff, make a rack on the wall
5' or less, smaller diameter, good trashcan works well, stuff in a corner
milk crate works for real small stuff

hard to access, hard to get things to and from, wont be used. IE, anything in an attic, anything requiring a ladder, pulleys etc. My experience anyway
