I actually like Wolverines better than Timberline or Red Wing.

Red Wing are top notch. Ariat boots are a close second. But I wear pull on (cowboy) style and that may be a factor in my decisions.

Wolverines used to be great but now that they are made in China they are hit and miss.
Had my Redwings for 25 years now. They resole them and just drop by every now and then and they clean and oil them, free and free laces for ever.

Cardinal's steel toes are the most comfortable, longest lasting, that I've worn.

I couldn't stand Wolverine steel toes. They didn't last and the toe area was too small.

I do have a pair of old Carhartt work boots (not steel toes) that are comfortable and seem to be lasting pretty well. It took a little time to get used to the western heel.

I've been wanting a pair of good boots, so I'll ask questions here regarding red wings warranty.

    1. What is the cost to resole boots? I've had born boots where the soles split.
    2. What about re installing insoles? I am fat and wear out insoles more than strippers with their heels.

I used to get Red Wings but switched to Dr. Martens and haven't looked back.

-some models, not all. The Plainsman and 1000 Mile (as well as others) are still made in USA.

    1. $75.00 for the last pair I had done. Free if you wear it out within 1 year.
    2. Never had to do it, but they do sell replacements. You might ask a good salesman about this.
It's not the odds. It's the stakes.
