A&E suspends Phil Robertson over his personal beliefs about homosexuals.

Of course the leftist media ignores one very important part of what he said (and I believe is ultimately why the left feels that people like Phil must be destroyed):

I suspect that Phil's family will stand behind him, but if they let A&E "fire" him and they bow to pressure from leftist/gay pressure groups then they don't deserve their success.

Bear in mind Willie seems to be a pretty smart businessman regardless of how he lets himself be portrayed on TV. I'm sure they have various contractual obligations after the latest renewal so the smart play for him is to make A&E cut the cord rather than have the family cut the cord. That keeps A&E from suing them for contractual breach and preserves their options.

Can you imagine next season if the whole family keeps talking about Phil even if he's never on camera? For that matter, they can structure the whole next set of filming around Phil's point about not having to agree with other people but letting the Almighty sort things out. Hell, I bet they can even slide in Si quoting Phil in a way that will make A&E look like even bigger shits if they react.

Back when A&E tried to censor their prayers and references to Jesus out of the show, they said put 'em back or we walk ... so I'm guessing they have a contract that allows them to shut down the show for any reason.

I don't watch the show. Not my thing but from what I have heard it's pretty fun/good to watch.
I don't think he said anything out of bounds and A&E is bending to the PC crowd pretty easily.
