Agreed, Bush used the family ranch and Clinton went to Martha's Vineyard and the Hamptons if i remember right. That is a far cry from flying half way around the world.

What really gets me is, everywhere Air Force One goes, Air Force Two goes also, with an identical loadout and no passengers. Well, maybe some staff and flunkies, friends, family, homies, etc. People who can get bumped if AF1 craps out and AF2 has to transport The Beautiful People. Sure, been that way for many previous Administrations, but this one seems to abuse it more.

I agree $14,000 seemed to be a little less than I would have thought he could get but I have no idea how big the house is. It may be a cracker box with bunk beds. I think the guy was one of his disciples or followers and did not want to appear to be gouging the chosen one.

I have a friend that has a home in Kennebunkport Maine. When Bush Sr would vaca, every year, he would rent his "home" (800 sq ft on the water) for $10k a week. His "normal" rental rate was $1000 a week in season. He said that 1 week would pay the mortgage for the year

So the message here is that it's OK for the gov to waste taxpayer money on severe gouging with overpriced rent? Meh, it's not their money. Cost is no object. Sheeesh. I'm not saying the posters think this way, but apparently the gov does.
