    I'm a bit worried about something similar. I'm giving my dad my AR. I just built myself a new one is that kosher?

    Firearms are generational "hand me downs" that are accepted with reverence. In your case it would be a "hand me up", and I am sure your father would accept it as you would if it were comming from him.
