^^^ your marks are more than likely aluminum and the touch up will not take. Use some bore cleaner instead. Let it sit a long while and eventually the marks will lift/ fade.
This is why I use a slug of copper and not aluminum, leave a mark and a little bore cleaner and Poof!

thanks for the tip, i'll give it a shot. I still need some touch up on the bare spots that were under the stock sight. The bare spots made it pretty easy to center the new sight.

Started on a 38 Special 1911. Doing some basic fitting of safeties and other small parts. Hopefully get it off to a gunsmith in a few months.

Are you going to have it set up for wad cutters only? I would think the magazines would be tough for a rimmed cartridge. Sounds like an awesome project gun.

S&W has / had a 39 spl WC semi. Had the opportunity to shoot 1 back east. If one was affordable, it would be added to the collection.

I finally started sorting gear and cleaning guns from the Steel Safari. The bolt on my .260 had both ejector and extractor issues. Funny how that stuff never crops up in practice, only matches. Hoser fixed the ejector and the bolt is headed to my smith for a new extractor.

Three days of lying in muddy sand made for quite a lot of dirty gear. My poor Leica Geovids were packed with crap.

Tell me about it, I've been going through my gear since I got home yesterday, guns were the first thing taken care of, I've been messing with gear and brass since then.

See if you don't clean them then you never have to worry about getting them dirty. I shot the cup and the steel safari and still haven't touch it. Bolt is a little gummy so I will touch it up for Quiet Riot in 2 weeks
    will work for:
    bullets primers & brass

A lot of guys were bitchen' about the SS at the Colo. Freedom shoot today. Apparently the skeeters are awake, as are the rattlers. See? Good thing I didn't go.
