What did you do in the shop today?

You might try to find some of that orange loctite the bike manufacturers are so fond of, it locks the threads, but never really hardens to the point that it's difficult to turn the fastener with the appropriate tool.

Otherwise known as "VibraTite". It works well but is not suited for elevated temp plus you apply it to the fastener beforehand and have to allow it to dry before assembly. Great stuff, I just wouldn't use it on a GB, stick with red Loctite or Rocksett.

Put a new forearm on an AR. Lightweight, only the necessary rail sections, and it should make the perfect (yeah, RIGHT!) 3-gun machine for me. I decided I needed a longer barrel, (than the 14.5 I was using) and a platform for a soon to be purchased 1-4x scope to replace the Eotech holographic I was using. Of course, the Eotech worked just fine last Sunday...go figure. It just seemed like I could've used a bit of magnification.

Oh, and put the holster, new AR mag double mag pouch and handgun mag holder on the new belt.

Okay, took the new forearm OFF the AR, as the gas block had loosened and moved enough to impede the flow of gas to the gas key. Not good. Drilled dimples in the barrel and re-installed the GB with VibraTite. We'll see, if this doesn't do it, it's going to be a cut-off wheel to the original FSB and put that bad-boy back on. That or MarkCO's side clamp GB.
I did get the new MBUS on the forearm. And moved the scope mount back one slot.
And re-filled the mags I used in the past two weeks. And loaded some M&P15-22 mags with the suppressor .22lr ammo I scored in the last couple of days. And put away the 1000 rnds of .40 S&W I just received. And took the holster, handgun dual mag carrier and AR mag double pouch off the new belt and installed them on the newer new belt. And installed the new lock on the downstairs gunsafe.

Yeah, that's what Mark said! Of course if I did that I wouldn't have had to be in the shop last night, and would have had to sit around and watch TV. Ugh, no thanks.

Drilled the holes for the rear sight screws in the 870, then found out that I didn't have a 6-40 tap. Unbelievable! I'll have one tomorrow! Two, most likely. Just in case.
So, I just drilled a hole for a pin in the front sight, rumor has it the adhesive Trijicon sends can't take the heat. I'll epoxy it AND pin it. I'm tired of doing things twice.

Update! 6-40 taps are made of "unobtainium". So, I came home and searched for an alternative solution. When I discovered that Trijicon had supplied one 6/32 and one 6-40 screw, the solution became obvious. Full write-up in the "sights and optics" forum.

I modified two AI magazines to take a slightly longer COAL today. Easy.

I figured out why I was getting really high ES and SD in the rounds for my LMT. That's all I've done, really, in the last month.
