Default Liberals Won't Stop Attacking DougCo Schools

Administrative law judge rules Douglas County School district broke fair campaign practice laws

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - Douglas County's School District violated Colorado's fair campaign practice laws by paying for a white paper intended to influence the November election, an administrative law judge found in a decision she signed on Christmas Eve.

The ruling follows a complaint filed by Julie Keim, an independent candidate in the board election, who argued the district's violations included hiring a conservative company to write a report that favored the conservative "reform agenda" favored by the sitting board. The judge's "Findings of Fact" indicate that all board members prior to the 2013 election supported that agenda.

The agenda's principles include allowing children to attend their school of choice within the district, including private schools, and a pay-for-performance plan for teachers.

    [snip]
What we're doing down here is damned important to removing the death-grip Liberals have on our schools and getting our kids a decent education. The voucher program gives low/middle income families a shot at private schools. And putting freedom back in education forces parents and student to be more engaged.

The "independent" candidates were Liberals that the unions put on the ballot. They narrowly lost because they used a lot of Conservative language in their campaigning--this was all carefully planned and managed.

Just goes to show that even when you beat them you must remain ever vigilant. And DougCo Schools needs to clean their house up ASAP.

My wife personally knows 2 of the candidates that lost. They are not lib's, and would fit in fine on this forum. They also are not "pro union" and any of that other smacktard stuff. They just want to get the board out because they're assholes. IMHO, which means nothing, politics should not be a part of the school board discussion. IE, coming out and openly supporting a presidential candidate. Long story short, DC school board has a bunch of assholes on it, if you don't believe me, go to a meeting and see how the board treats the teachers.

If they are elected, the process is inevitably infested with politics. No way around that.

The leftists will NEVER give up. They live for this and are much more focused on the fight than the right.

While I appreciate your comments, your last sentence tells me all I need to know.

Education IS NOT ABOUT THE TEACHERS. Anymore than buying groceries is about the cashier. It's about the kids and the parents--we are the consumers and the ones the "system" was setup to serve. This is the only condition under which we would willingly pay taxes into that system to fund it.

This school board has given us choice (freedom) and the Liberals hate that. The opposition candidates would have changed it--they never made a commitment to education freedom. You and I both know the voucher program would have ended had these AFL-CIO backed candidates won.

They were indeed Liberals and sought to return DougCo back to the union-led model that has failed so many kids and families. If you think politics should stay out of it, where are you on union dues that go overwhelmingly to Democrats? Sorry, everything is political now and I firmly oppose anything Liberals want to do--including maintaining the status quo.

One even supported Angela Giron in the recall...

Oh, and Keim sounds like an asshole too...

Sorry to be so "in your face," but you need to decide which side of the fence you're on. The people you support don't care much for your gun rights or civil liberties and I don't appreciate them trying to take opportunity away from my son just to maintain the Liberal stupidity and indoctrination that dominates education. So I'm pretty passionate about this. If we want to protect freedom it starts with our kids.

I didn't support the alternates because they were lumped in with the pro union candidates and their websites did not clearly state they were still in favor of the changes made to the union bargaining and school choice.

As far as their attitide I would have been a bigger d*** if I was working to make changes for the better for our kids education and had a constant barrage from leftists attacking everything about me.

Douglas County wants choice in their school system, if that means bucking the "System" then so be it, those that fought against change doomed themselves, this all comes down to Charter schools and vouchers, those that opposed them lost, the rest of the nation can kiss my backside, if teachers want something different then they have every right to leave, unfortunately DCSD ratings continue to climb, sounds like things are moving in the correct direction.

Education deserves choices, funny how the libs cry about DCSD, what are the Unions going to do if DCSD comes out tops in school district results? One School District in the country wants the chance to do things differently and the voters demand it, don't like it, move somewhere else.
