The CT State Motto
"He who is transplanted still sustains"
(Qui transtulit sustinet)
The state motto of Connecticut is "He who is transplanted still sustains" (in Latin: Qui transtulit sustinet). The origin of the motto is uncertain but it has been associated with the various versions of thestate seal begining with the Saybrook Colony Seal. The Saybrook Colony was established in late 1635 at the mouth of the Connecticut River in what is today Old Saybrook, Connecticut.
