Isn't target a French owned company? Didn't they also not allow Marines to stand out front for the Toys for Tots drive?

    the OWNER or the CEO?

i think its pretty silly to not use a store based on the political leanings of one person (if someone straight up doesn't like the stores thats understandable). if you sat and looked closely at pretty much every massive company some of their board and head honchos are going to have some liberal political beliefs. thats just a given. hell, walmart has been widely publicized as trying to encourage their employees to sign up for welfare and schedule them so they can. there is no perfect large scale retailer, too many things going on to get that. the only place you can find that sort of thing would be a mom and pop store, and those either don't exist or are crazy expensive.

my thoughts exactly. i sometimes buy things at safeway that are a decent amount more expensive but its just so much cleaner and nicer. walmart to me represents everything wrong with american retailers and society.

Target Corp. is the old Dayton-Hudson Corp. with a long American history. I believe that you may be thinking of The Salvation Army not being able to have a kettle and bell ringer. Their stance is that they can say "No" to everyone or else have disputes between multiple interests as to why one is chosen over another. "No" is easy.

Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease.

correct. i worked for target when in school and remember this well. basically they were having every off the wall organization throw a tantrum that they weren't allowed but the salvation army was, so they said no one can and instead donate money directly. for example with the salvation army they gave a 1 million dollar donation to get a new program off the ground. this is why all the crap about being liberal, supporting gays, not supporting veternas etc is so bogus. no matter what such a large company does it pisses off somebody so they try to spread it around and even THAT pisses off some people. its ridiculous to think a company with 1800 stores servicing millions is going to be lock step behind every cause that you are and against every one you are.

I don't shop at either one. They both suck as far as I am concerned.

All you guys that like target so much should really look at who owns that conglomerate of shit. Uber liberal jackwagon Governor of MN , Mark Dayton, aire to the Dayton's companies. He's as liberal anti 2a as they come. He says he no longer has holdings in target corp but that's still a huge part of where his money came from. That fact alone has kept me out of those stores for at least the last 15 years.
