nynco, while I agree that gun rights should be a bipartisan issue (as it used to be), this bill is just Polis covering his posterior after the recall elections. Look at his legislative history and you'll understand why so many of us are skeptical about his "change of heart". The best thing you can do for your gun rights is vote him out of office if you're in his district then help the rest of us vote Hickenlooper, Bennet and Udall out too.

It is ridiculous. Hey, you don't like pot, well good for you. I don't care to use it either. However, it is effective in helping my wife to have some quality of life and not be strung out on man made and extremely costly narcotics. I've seen her on the prescribed drugs for pain and her other symptoms, she can't function on them. With a few hits on a joint each day she is able to do things like cook, take a shower and help me with the shopping, all manner of activities and stuff I imagine some of you would take for granted. For her it is not about getting stoned, it is for relief of pain and quality of life. And believe it or not, pot costs me less than the med's that she no longer has to take EVERY DAY.

I hope and pray that you all never have to cope with what she copes with every hour of the day. This is a good piece of legislation and I support it.

Folks like you are the problem with the way MMJ has been treated. There IS A real need for it your wife is an example. The problem is that MMJ is a fucking joke 2/3r's of the potheads I know have a " red card" and all of them are for bullshit reasons.

If it had been used correctly by doctors few here would not agree with this law.

I'm a toss up on it. Should medications be a reason to restrict gun rights? I mean look at all these mass shooters they all seem to be on some sort of pills. Should gun rights be taken away from them ? Aurora may not have happened if it were like that .. same with Arapahoe High if my understanding is right... but then you get in to the whole privacy issue.. and the fact many take those same pills and never hurt anyone...

    just food for thought.

If those of you that are against Cannabis (MJ) understood how it actually works in the body, you'd understand that it helps mental conditions. In fact mAYBE it could have prevented some of the mass shootings. Please research it before condemning it.

    Just More food for thought,

How many people are on medications that any of the shooters were on and do not go on a shooting rampage? Chances are its below a tenth of a percent that go bat shit crazy.

As discussed in the other thread Polis is also cosponsoring another bill that does nothing but hurt your 2A rights https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hr1565/text

No questions at all. Saying Polis is defending our 2A rights is like saying now that DeGette gets what a magazine/clip thingy really is, she will back off the mag ban. Many Boulderite's smoke pot and many also own guns too. He is only trying to please his constituents and not the rest of, even though many of us agree with that law. What he is really doing is saying "hey hey watch this hand while i shovel this other bill up your ass and you will enjoy it". If any of you feel like giving him a pat on the back, and i believe you should to send a message, please remind him that HR1565 is a load of shit and you will not vote for him if he continues to cosponsor and vote yes on it.
