FALSE. The goal is to make the 2nd amendment not a political issue at all. It should not be a matter of left vs right at all. The goal is to make it akin to the 4th amendment or even the 1st where there is no debate on the amendment at all. Much like how people say "i may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death the right to say it". There should also be people who say "I may disagree with you feeling that you need to protect your family with a gun, but I will defend to the death your right to do it." Until this right is embraced by all to the point that it is not a political issue, but rather a freedom issue, then we will continue to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Polis is in the Congress and I support this bill to restore second amendment rights to medical marijuana users. The fed prohibition against pot along with Colorado law does not allow my wife to even touch a gun, let alone own one. If a person illegally entered our home intent on doing harm and I was not there, if she uses one of my guns to defend herself and our daughter she could be prosecuted under these regulations and laws for simply exercising her natural and constitutional rights. It is ridiculous. Hey, you don't like pot, well good for you. I don't care to use it either. However, it is effective in helping my wife to have some quality of life and not be strung out on man made and extremely costly narcotics. I've seen her on the prescribed drugs for pain and her other symptoms, she can't function on them. With a few hits on a joint each day she is able to do things like cook, take a shower and help me with the shopping, all manner of activities and stuff I imagine some of you would take for granted. For her it is not about getting stoned, it is for relief of pain and quality of life. And believe it or not, pot costs me less than the med's that she no longer has to take EVERY DAY.

I hope and pray that you all never have to cope with what she copes with every hour of the day. This is a good piece of legislation and I support it.

    Elitist!!!
Do those harbor freight hammers not have feelings too, why is it only the snap on tools that get respect! I say we need to be understanding ofeach others views and not discriminate against hammers of cheaper price. Until you agree I will simply call you every derogatory name in the book.....Conservative

Have to disagree with some of you. Polis is the only .gov official including republicans that I wrote to during the scare that replied that he was not in favor of any additional gun control and instead favored a new approach to mental health care and social care.
