Folks like you are the problem with the way MMJ has been treated. There IS A real need for it your wife is an example. The problem is that MMJ is a fucking joke 2/3r's of the potheads I know have a " red card" and all of them are for bullshit reasons.

If it had been used correctly by doctors few here would not agree with this law.


I'm a toss up on it. Should medications be a reason to restrict gun rights? I mean look at all these mass shooters they all seem to be on some sort of pills. Should gun rights be taken away from them ? Aurora may not have happened if it were like that .. same with Arapahoe High if my understanding is right... but then you get in to the whole privacy issue.. and the fact many take those same pills and never hurt anyone...

Think about taking them away from a limited amount of time while they are on the drugs. just like you can't buy a gun while on a restraining order... or do you think that is not ok also ?

I would be willing to bet a gun is are more likely to kill then a person on meds is. If any of these meds were that bad more then half of our population would be dead by now. If i used your logic on this subject a UBC, assault rifle and mag bans would make perfect sense, hell, why not just ban guns entirely. Like you i am freaked out by meds, i was thinking about taking Chantix to help myself quit smoking but hell no the side effects scare me too much to proceeded. However i am not about to condemn a section of society that has been handed out drugs like it was popcorn. I can not take away a persons rights because a minute population does harm when influenced by them. We humans want to blame but we have no proof why we are blaming most of the time. Think of it like this, can you blame Viagra for a boner, yes, but can you blame Wellbutrin for a murder, no. There is no scientific proof it does and i bet it helps more then it hurts. We need to bring mental health to the front lines before anything else in figuring out the problems we face. Does that mean i want the FBI/CBI to know your health records, no. If someone trained can pin point a problem i think it should be looked into before suspending someones rights.

I disagree as UBC gun/ mag bans effect EVERYONE PERIOD not just a segment of the population.

I agree with the "handing out like popcorn" and I think this is a LARGE part of the issue. instead of treating these "kids" they just feed them drugs and never really help them just mess up their heads even worse.

As you say it's such a fine line between privacy and "need to know" with mental health issues. It's the same with .mil guys not getting PTSD treatment for fear of it jamming up their career in the future / looking weak to others. They need the help but won't get the help out of those fears and I think we will see a carrying over of this to private citizens with the federalization of healthcare. ( Obamacare is step one of this in my opinion) While I'm glad these scum( mass shooters) off themselves on the one hand.. if they would stay alive more often we could study them better and make some progress on prevention thru mental health intervention.. at least that is my thought on it .

I think that if it was brought out more in the national scene that all these guys seem to be on anti-depressants it would move the "conversation" in a better direction ( from gun bans to prevention) and actually push the research harder.

Just think if all the money bloomberg and the anti's spend on trashing the NRA and innocent gun owners was spent on mental health research instead....
