Default Anyone catching this nasty flu?

I was sick all through Christmas vacation. Whole damn family has been through it. Seems like I'm taking the longest to get back on my feet in my household.
My brother who is my partner at work has been down for two days. I have to go in today because I'm the only one walking and can get 150 ft from the toilet. Somehow if I make it a half day it will impress the bosses????
Fuckem!!! You know how many houses are being built right now? I could swing a dead cat and find a new job.

But here I go..........good slave that I am.......

I'm curious if it's a new strain-did any of you folks that have it get a flu shot ?

One Airborne or Emergen-C per day without fail. I sometimes get a hint of the sniffles when the rest of the house is feeling bad. I get over it quick though.

did those and the nyquil / benadryl cocktail. still took a week, and the signs are still lingering.

For the folks describing the GI bug, the flu shot won't help. I've heard the big thing going around big right now is that GI bug.
But influenza is certainly on the rise for the US right now. Colorado is listed as "regional activity" but the map always lags by a week or two.

    http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/summary.htm

Looks like so far, the match has been decent:
    • CDC has antigenically characterized 408 influenza viruses, including 354 2009 H1N1 viruses, 46 influenza A (H3N2) viruses, and 8 influenza B viruses, collected since October 1, 2013.
      • All 354 of the 2009 H1N1 viruses tested were characterized as A/California/7/2009-like. This is the influenza A (H1N1) component of the Northern Hemisphere quadrivalent and trivalent vaccines for the 2013-2014 season.
      • All 46 of the influenza A (H3N2) viruses tested were characterized as Texas/50/2012-like. This is the influenza A (H3N2) component of the Northern Hemisphere quadrivalent and trivalent vaccines for the 2013-2014 season.
      • Three of the eight influenza B viruses tested belonged to the B/Yamagata lineage of viruses, and were characterized as B/Massachusetts/02/2012-like. This is an influenza B component for the 2013-2014 Northern Hemisphere quadrivalent and trivalent influenza vaccines.
      • The five other influenza B viruses belonged to the B/Victoria lineage of viruses, and were characterized as B/Brisbane/60/2008-like. This is the recommended influenza B component of the 2013-2014 Northern Hemisphere quadrivalent influenza vaccine.

Edit: Having said all that, I'm going to personally get going on my nasal washes here today. Wash your hands like an OCD sufferer, folks!

Looks like so far, the match has been decent:
With all the dopers flocking here for "Ski" season, the transmission rate will rise rapidly. Figure 1 week active, 2-3 days transmission time. This will spread nationwide past the states now in it's throws.
The contagious map will be interesting come sunday. Every state will be FLU
