What's up Colorado?
I signed up once a few years ago and never really made much use of the forum but have found a renewed interest in discussion, sharing of knowledge, and puffery of the highest sorts.
I've held my FFL for almost 3 years now (gonna have to renew in a couple months) and discovered my interest in guns about 5 or 6 years ago when I bought my first pistol (Springfield XDm9). Of course, like most guys in their 20's, I figured I'd be a natural crack shot with any firearm and was rudely awakened to the reality of just how hard it is to be "good with a gun." This, naturally, drove me to learn as much as I could to become a great shooter.
Now, after several years, thousands of rounds down range, thousands of dollars "invested," and hours upon hours of research, I feel like I can call myself a DECENT shot. I know I still have a LONG way to go to become a real competitor in any arena, but at least I feel like I'm at a point where I'm better prepared than your Average Joe. I'm looking forward to increasing my own skills, teaching abilities, expanding my clientele (now that I'm teaching classes), and getting more instructors' certifications to teach more weapons platforms.
I'm an avid shooter, amateur/intermediate reloader, knowledge/skill hungry student, and soon-to-be class 3 item holder (have tax stamps in for suppressors and SBR's that I'm waiting on).
I look forward to asking and answering questions, getting to know some new people, and hopefully getting out and competing a bit this year (pistol matches, clay shooting, and 3-gun).
A few of my other interests outside of firearms include: home brewing, prepping/survival, working on VW TDI's, Android jailbreaking/optimization, and being involved in the "pick-up community."
Hope to see you guys out there!
