Angry My thoughts and sympathies go out the Pittsburgh officer's families

I don't know why this is happening , on what seems like at least a weekly basis nowadays, but for some reason, innocent people are needlessly being gunned down by madmen armed with guns that many decent, law abiding normal sportsmen own for target shooting and hunting.

Just yesterday, a man in his 20's, had apparently lost his job and was upset, so he created a domestic disturbance, in order to get the police called to his home, where he then ambushed the first responders with an AK-47 (a gun, of which I own 2) and shot them all in the head. Unfortunatley, the Pittsburgh police dept. did not follow protocol like they should have, which is to call in the SWAT team first on a a domestic disturbance involving guns. These 3 cops were just plain outgunned, by a man with a semi atuomatic high powered rifle that holds 30 rounds inthe magazine. (Not an excuse though, they could have just as easily been killed with a single action revolver from 1870). I don't like the media's atttempt to scare the publc by calling his weapon an "Assault Rifle" because there is no such thing. If I sharpen a toothbrush and kill you with it, doesn't that make it an "Assault Toothbrush" Or I kill you with my car. Fear the dreaded "Assault Civic".

But back to my point. These things are unfortunatley, going to keep happening, as the economy gets worse. Why anyone would get THAT upset over losing a job is beyond me, I mean Fuck! Go get another god damn job! Nothing like that is worth killing innocent people. Or if you are that mad, at least place your anger where it belongs. Go shoot the bastard that made the decision to lay you off! LOL, you know I'm just kidding.

But this has got to stop. 4 Oakland police officers dead last week form a convicted felon (who had no business possesing ANY guns in the first place, as it's against the law) , 3 days ago, a gunman in Binghamton New York, goes into an immigration center (he himself was a Vietnamese immigrant) and killed 14 people, because he lost his job at IBM. And now this. I can't help but wonder if some corrupt government official is behind all this, using these slayings to dance in the blood of the victims, so as to scare the American public into being ok with adopting another "Assault Weapons" ban.

IF that's the case, they're looking at it all wrong. For one, our own FBI proved that the 1994 ban on assault weapons did absolutley NOTHING to prevent any violent crime, because gun control laws have not affect on criminals (obviously. The gunman in Oakland was a felony parolee, and Kalifornia has the strictest gun control laws in the nation. They worked really well didn't they?).

More people, decent people, need to be more heavliy armed, including the police. You police captains, you send your duty officers out in the field with nothing more than a Baretta 9MM handgun for their duty weapon? WTF!?!? You're putting your officers in DANGER! Every patrol officer should be equipped with at least a semi sutomatic AR-15 in the trunk or compartment of their vehicle. Maybe then, they'd be able to at least fight back. You remember the famous 1997 Hollywood bank robber shootout? The bank robbers had (Illegal!) automatic weapons, and held the LA police at bay for over an hour, as all they had were Smith and Wesson revolvers and pupmp shotguns. The police had to go down the street to a local gun store to borrow AR-15's to finally be able to handle the situation, which they eventually did. (Hey, unlike the movies, you DO eventually run out of ammo).

This has to end. Law abiding gun enthusiasts such as myself, as going to suffer and be the target (no pun intended) of some serious new gun control legislation that's obviously going to get pushed hard now.

I have a plan to rid this country of gun violence overnight. Give anyone convicted of ANY firearms related crime, whether it's robbery, assault, murder, whatever, an automatic DEATH PENALTY, plus 5 years. I guarrantee, you'd no longer see these problems. Making the weapons more unavailable won't solve anything. Criminals will STILL GET THEM!! Can you wrap your stupid liberal mind around that Eric Holder? SEVERELY ENFORCE THE LAWS WE ALREADY HAVE! You make the punishments too light for gun offenses. Why do you think criminals ignore the laws?

Hopefully, this country pulls it's head out of it's ass real soon.

    Ryan out.

Apparently he was a big fan of Alex Jones and such ilk. I'm sure there's a lot more out there like him.
While I certainly don't condone what he did, I think it will be a great learning experience for the whole country. I think because of this, the cops will be a bit more careful in the future. I am also one of the "weirdos" that thinks the government should be afraid of the people. Yet look how that has been turned around, especially in recent years.
And I also feel for the kid-he was a young man, with his whole life in front of him, reacting to what he had learned on the internet and the radio. A waste of 4 lives, all in all.
It goes to show how pathetic this country has gotten. You can't trust the media. You can't trust the government. You can't trust the cops. You can't trust the immigrants. And now you can't trust the neighbor kid next door.
    Scary times we live in.

ssf467 care to chime in? This seems to be you're forte. As for me I am just a neocon.

    What can I say.

    I'll chime in for ssf467.

There is a large difference between fearing what the government has in store for you, and luring innocents that would otherwise leave you alone, to their deaths. Continued acts like this will just make police over react to everything, or not react at all. There are millions of people who don't feel the need to arm themselves, and they are the ones that really need the police. They are also the ones who will be most effected by events like this.

I don't want the police to bother me unless they have to, but at the same time, I don't want them to be jumpy around me because of stupid stuff like this.

Lastly, I am most irritated that this was reported as an "ambush" enough that even I had to treat it like it was one. This wan't an ambush at all. The shooter didn't call the police, and from what I can tell, the mom wasn't in on it. How was this an ambush in any sense of the word?

Really? So these news articles are going to make cops decide not to do their job??? Oh and of course these news articles will make cops psychic so they will now which calls to respond to and which ones to ignore.

They choose there life, and in case you forgot this is America and that is their choice. America is a beautiful thing we all have free choice and if you choose wrong well deal with it.

Let me guess we need a law that mandates they be armed? I suppose that would make me less of a neocon. Well I for one believe in freedom and if they don't wish to arm them selves that is their god given right.

On the same note once again WTF do the police have to do with it? They will respond and do their best. Don't worry they will do their "JOB".

If I was you I would call the police and teach them how to be psychic so that in the future they will know if and when you need help or desire their asistance. Not to mention make sure to teach them how to know each and every situation they encounter as well as the intentions of the people whom they encounter. This in my opinion from a non LEO perspective would make them much less jumpy.

Holy shit I am going to loose it..................This was not an ambush? he did not call the police? Well did he call the innocent people he was about to murder? If he had called either one I doubt he could have "ambushed them" you really need a dictionary and a shrink!

    Hunter,

I'm pretty irritated by how you misunderstood my post. I'm not even sure where to start.

I guess I'll work backwards. His mother called the police, he didn't call them. How is that an 'ambush?' By that definition, every cop who's ever been shot was 'ambushed.' You have to invite the police to your location under false pretense in order to ambush them. Unless I'm mistaken (Which is certainly possible, since who knows what actually happened), his mother called the police and actually wanted them to take him out of the house. None of the articles that I read stated anything that said that this was some sort of ruse put on by both the son and mother. Maybe I'm reading the wrong one?

Second, I'd like to address your assumption that I ever indicated that there is something wrong with people not wanting to be armed. Go ahead and point out where I said that. I didn't. I was simply making the point, that not everyone (in fact MOST people) don't feel it is necessary to always be armed (it isn't and shouldn't be). This is the whole reason for the police and other government agencies in the first place. EVERYONE needs the police. Even if you engage someone in your home and neutralize the threat yourself, you still need to call the police to have them come get the guy (dead or alive).

Last, we can talk about the first stupid thing you said (which is the first thing you said, as all of what you said was stupid). If you really think that if events like this become more common, that the police won't start to act differently, then you are only kidding (and making an ass out of) yourself. If I were a police officer, and events like this started to become common place, you can bet your ass that I'd start having my side arm drawn a lot more often when encountering people. Sure it's my job to respond to domestic disturbance calls, but it's NOT my job to get mowed down by every asshole who can't separate reality from conspiracy (like yourself, Hunter). I'll respond to a domestic disturbance, but I'll do it with my AR-15 in its sling at the ready.

Your response to my post, reminds me a lot of this kids response to the police. Here he is working himself up into a frenzy over recent articles and internet loud mouths, and not at all able to realize that this is not a black and white issue. He couldn't understand that just because the police were on the way to his house, they weren't there to do the things that he's read about on the internet. You act the same way. You see all these people getting vocal about the wrongs that they are seeing recently, and you automatically assume that anyone who doesn't agree with you, must be the polar opposite. The world isn't black and white sir (<-sarcasm), there are shades of gray. You misinterpreted nearly every single sentence that I wrote.

I wrote that I don't want the police to bother me, and I don't. That doesn't mean that I want ZERO contact with law enforcement, it means that if I get pulled over for speeding, I don't want guns drawn on both sides of my car every time, because cops keep getting killed by stupid people with a feeble grip of reality and social mood.

If I could call up anyone and teach them to be psychic, it'd be you. It'd do you a lot of good, since you are so emotionally strung out and convinced that everyone hates cops you couldn't even come close to correctly inferring my meaning.

RIP to the fallen. I can only imagine how their family members must have been going through right now, and hat off to their colleagues who have to come back the next day and continue on their duties.

For those who doesn't know who this murderer is...
